We have so much to be thankful for here at Camp Paron! 2017 has been a great year–from projects and prayers to people and praises! We are grateful to the individuals and groups who have been involved in making this year a special one for us. Camp Paron would not be what it is today without you, the churches. Thank you for allowing us to serve you and be a part of what the Lord is doing in your churches and in your ministries! Below, we have listed a few things that have happened this year.
-
Eagle Scout Projects: To name a few, we were given a new bridge built over a creek overflow spot between the cabins and lower part of camp. We were also able to add some new directional signs around the grounds.
-
Completed a New Building: This new facility serves as a conference room and meeting space. It is fully functional with a kitchen, bathrooms, and all the tech options you may need!
-
New Manager: In June, we welcomed our new manager to the camp, Kevin Alley. We are so excited to have had him here for six months now!
-
Engage Youth Camp: This was our second year to offer a programmed youth camp and our numbers doubled from the first year! We had one re-commitment, one decision to be baptized, and three salvations! Registration for Engage 2018 opens January 1st.
-
Volunteer Work Day: Geyer Springs First Baptist Church had a group of couples and families serve at camp for a work day. They helped with many projects around the grounds, including: trimmed hedges, removed stumps, built benches, built a fire pit, cleaned up our prayer garden, replaced light fixtures, painted our office, and replaced borders around parking lots.
“Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!” (Psalm 105:1-2)
